In August 2014, The New Zealand Film Archive merged with Sound Archives Ngā Taonga Kōrero and the Television New Zealand Archive to form a new, integrated audiovisual archive. The new organisation is called the New Zealand Archive of Film, Television and Sound Ngā Taonga Whitiāhua Me Ngā Taonga Kōrero (known as Ngā Taonga Sound & Vision).

Ngā Taonga Sound & Vision is New Zealand’s national sound and moving image archive. The archive is a charitable trust dedicated to collecting, protecting and connecting New Zealand’s audiovisual heritage with the widest possible audience.
